1. Appointment Scheduling & Notice
All services provided by Morney Signing Services are scheduled in advance. Appointments only. No walk-ins. We respectfully request at least 2 hours advance notice for rescheduling or cancelling standard office appointments, and at least 4 hours advance notice for mobile or hospital travel assignments.
2. Booking Deposits & Retainers
A pre-appointment deposit may be required to confirm and secure your booking time, especially for:
- Mobile travel appointments throughout Greater Houston
- Hospital, hospice, rehabilitation, and assisted-living facility visits
- Apostille document facilitation services
- After-hours, weekend, or same-day urgent appointments
Deposits are credited toward your total appointment invoice. Incurred third-party fees (such as Texas Secretary of State apostille filing fees, courier costs, or platform credential verification fees) are non-refundable once disbursed.
3. Rescheduling & Timely Cancellation
Timely Rescheduling: If you notify MSS before the minimum notice window, your paid deposit will be applied in full to your rescheduled appointment time.
Late Cancellations: Cancellations made with less than the required notice after the notary has departed for a mobile appointment will incur the mobile travel fee to cover committed travel time, vehicle expenses, and scheduling unavailability.
4. Signer Readiness, Valid ID & Incomplete Appointments
Under Texas law and official notarial rules, a notary public is legally prohibited from completing a notarization if:
- A signer fails to present valid, unexpired government-issued photo identification.
- A signer appears disoriented, medicated, incapacitated, or unable to understand the document.
- A signer appears coerced or unwilling to sign voluntarily.
- The document is incomplete, contains blank spaces intended to be filled in later, or lacks notarial wording.
If an appointment cannot proceed due to missing identification, unreadiness, or signer ineligibility, the state-authorized notarial fee for uncompleted acts is not charged, but the mobile travel fee remains due to compensate for travel and on-site attendance.
5. Refunds & Inquiries
